Maputo (MOZTIMES) – The General Inspectorate of Labour (IGT) has found that the working environment in Standard Bank in Mozambique is causing workers to faint, due to excessive work and pressure from the employer.
According to an inspection undertaken at Standard Bank, among the list of violations of labour legislation that the bank has committed, there stand out “areas with scenarios of fainting due to excess of work and pressure from the chiefs”.
According to this document in the possession of MOZTIMES, the IGT undertook its inspection after countless anonymous denunciations received via the mass media, which revealed violations of the workers’ rights.
