Maputo (MOZTIMES) – The United States Ambassador to Mozambique, Peter H. Vrooman, stated on Wednesday that his country’s life-saving aid to Mozambique will continue, despite the suspension of development assistance programmes across the world by Donald Trump’s administration.
Speaking in Maputo after a meeting with President Daniel Chapo, Vrooman specified that certain life-saving projects will still receive funding from the US government.
“The PEPFAR projects [President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief], antiretrovirals, and logistical support for the health sector… we will continue our life-saving programmes for two million Mozambicans living with HIV,” Vrooman said.
