Maputo (MOZTIMES) – Hidroelectrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), the company that operates the Cahora Basa Dam on the Zambezi River, in the central Mozambican province of Tete has surpassed, has surpassed its electricity production target, reports Monday’s issue of the daily paper “O Pais”.
From January to June, HCB generated 6,399.02 Gigawatt-hours of electricity, which was 13 per cent higher than the same period the previous year. This was 10 per cent higher than the plan for the first half of the year.
