Maputo (MOZTIMES) – The murder last Saturday of Osorio Citora Afonso, the catholic bishop of the central Mozambican city of Quelimane, will not go unpunished, promised President Daniel Chapo on Friday.
Addressing Bishop Afonso’s funeral in Quelimane, Chapo said the death of Afonso was a “barbaric and cowardly” act, and an “irreparable loss for the Catholic Church and for Mozambique”.
