Maputo (MOZTIMES) — Mozambique is projecting a sharp economic recovery over the next four years, driven largely by the expected start of major liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, with the growth of real gross domestic product (GDP) forecast to reach 9.5 per cent in 2029.
The projection, contained in the government’s Medium-Term Fiscal Scenario for 2027-2029, places natural gas at the center of Mozambique’s economic strategy as authorities seek to accelerate growth, reduce public debt and restore investor confidence.
