Maputo (MOZTIMES) – The Mozambican government intends to make over 850,000 new household water connections across the country by 2036.
According to the Minister of Public Works, Fernando Rafael, speaking on Monday, in Maputo, at the opening of the National Induction and Institutional Alignment Meeting of the publicly-owned institute Águas de Moçambique (Waters of Mozambique), under the ProÁguas 2026–2036 Programme, in addition to the 876, 355 new connections. the country will build 5,336 standpipes and 20,074 dispersed water points, aiming to expand access to drinking water across the country.
