Maputo (MOZTIMES) - Mozambique's National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) has announced the opening of an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting that resulted in the death of a man identified as Narciso Castigo Sambo, better known as “Macovo,” during a police operation carried out last Friday in the administrative post of Xinavane, Maputo province.
SERNIC has guaranteed that the case will be investigated with rigor to establish potential criminal liability. According to an official Sernic statement, the operation was conducted in coordination with the Mozambican police force (PRM) and was intended to implement several warrants against Sambo.
