Maputo, 17 Jun (Mozambique Times) - At least two illegal miners died and two police officers were injured in a clash on Monday between miners and police people in the Nsewe region, in Montepuez district, in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado.
According to sources cited by the independent newspaper “Carta de Moçambique”, the clash occurred when the police were preventing the miners from entering the concession area operated by the company Montepuez Ruby Mining (MRM), near Nsewe village.
