Pemba (MOZTIMES) – Two children were abducted by insurgents earlier this week in villages in Macomia district. The victims are from the villages of Namigure and Najaba, located 7 and 16 kilometres respectively from the district headquarters.
According to sources in the local communities, the two children were abducted in separate incidents while they were in the bush searching for means of livelihood. One of the victims was picking cashew nuts when was captured by insurgents on Sunday in Namigure village. By Tuesday, the child had still not returned home.
