Maputo (MOZTIMES) – Repairs to the sabotaged Massingir dam, in the southern Mozambican province of Gaza, will cost about six million meticais (95,000 US dollars, at the current exchange rate).
The dam is on the Elephants River, which is the largest tributary of the Limpopo. A power station at the dam can generate 25 megawatts of electricity. The dam is also crucial for flood control, and for irrigation.
